I just happened to visit the Maybee site and was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Belva and Robert Perry. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Although I never had the pleasure to meet Belva in person, her letters were so friendly and welcoming when I joined the Maybee Society that she made me feel right at home and one of the Maybee family. I'm just so terribly sorry to hear of the loss of Belva and her husband. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Hello Maystar,

I love your webpage, but I am interested in any information on the Weld Straton Maybee Sr. family and its ancestry. Who were his parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc. I know that his mothers name was Cora and his father was Martin, I think! Please e-mail me at toontown92020.yahoo.com (my daughter's e-mail address), if anyone knows where to find this branch of the Maybee clan. I would like to know where the name Maybee originated from and in what year they migrated to America and subsiquently changed their name through Ellis Island to Maybee. Thank you for any leads and information. Martha Jones-Rose, granddaughter to Weld Straton Maybee Sr.

What a great visit - I am not a relative but feel like I "know" your family after reading all the wonderful stories from family members. I am in the process of making my own family cookbook, but don't think it will ever compare to yours. Great job!! From a Florida websurfer.

How great that you have a family website! (I'm not a relative.) We have one that's not as extensive as yours. My six sisters and I share letters and photos every other month. I found your website while searching for a quick and easy turtle candy recipe on Google. Your website popped up and I noticed the Rootbeer Cookies. I can't wait to try those this weekend! (Does 1/2 butter mean 1/2 cup or 1/2 stick?). Also, seeing that you have family history and emergency preparedness makes suspect you might be LDS (Latter-day Saints, the Mormons). Are you? We are! We are in the Menlo Park Stake in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'd love to hear from you. Laurel Northern California

9/26/2002 I did a search on alta vista search engine for 'Legg-Perthies' to see what showed up. My purpose for this search was to find information on the disease, because in 1949 at the age of 5 began a 3 year recovery process on both hips due to the disease. At the time of my diagnosis there were two cases of the disease in the greater Los Angeles Area and the doctor that was treating me was also treating the other boy. did you know that the MayBee family history goes all the way back to the French huegenauts and for some of us it goes back to Ghengis Khan and Mongolian descent? quite a colorful history when you consider the espionage during the revolutionary and war with french canada. there are several different spellings of the name due to lack of education and dialect pronunciation etc. gets pretty interesting.--MayBee/Maybe/Mabie/Mabe/Maybey/Mayby/Maby and so on and so on. my name is Edward W. MayBee-son of Richard C. MayBee and Mary LaVila Lee MayBee/my grandfathers were Edward F. MayBee and Wilbur M. Lee great site!!! I've enjoyed my visit. mreman@loganet.net

I was fascinated with the whole idea of family closeness depicted on your site much like my own French Canadian family background and all of the French food recipes I accummulated and made for my family and friends in my lifetime. Thank you for an enjoyable visit and the opportunity to showcase my new bark candy recipe. rea
